Felipe Martinez
Felipe Martinez
Felipe and Rosa embody a very fluid style of dancing, moving seamlessly through all ranges of the embrace. Their dance is at once dynamic, smooth and extremely musical. As teachers, their dedication, enthusiasm, and sheer knowledge of the dance always come across with great clarity. To watch them and to work with them is extremely inspiring and instills a real joy and respect for the dance.
Felipe and Rosa have an extensive background in other forms of movement and have been influenced by the most respected tango masters and dancers. They are prominent tango teachers in the San Francisco/Bay Area and share their passion for tango all over North America and Europe.
Korey Ireland Korey Ireland is a professional composer turned tango-addict, he brings a lifetime of musical experience and an unquenchable thirst for tango to his teaching.  He has developed his dancing on social dance floors of the world's tango capitals and with a great deal of guidance from some spectacular teachers (Winkler, Jeurissen, Valle, Naviera, Krebs.) Originally from Kansas City, Korey has spent the better part of the last three years traveling and teaching tango in England, Holland, Spain, Germany, Russia and Argentina, sharing his passion for tango, music, expression, and connection.
Mari Black Mari Black
Mari Black developed her love for tango as a student at Yale, but is better known off the dance floor as a multi-style violinist, composer, and teacher.  Her energetic playing as a progressive jazz, folk, Western classical, and crossover artist has led her to dozens of memorable performances across the country and earned her top awards from the ASTA Alternative Styles competition, the Northeast Fiddler’s Championship, and the Music Teachers’ National Association.  Mari has been featured as a concert soloist with the New England String Ensemble, the Boston Virtuosi, the Concord Symphony, and the Waltham Philharmonic, and has toured internationally in China, Korea, Zimbabwe, Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic, Italy, and France.  She has appeared with artists such as Mark O’Connor and Willie Ruff in live performance and national media broadcast, including Fox and CBS morning news and NPR’s “Here and Now”.  Mari earned her Masters Degree and Artist Diploma from the Yale School of Music, and is currently completing her doctorate at Columbia University’s Teachers College.  There, her research focuses on developing a college music curriculum that features the study of many different styles of music. Mari can be found performing and teaching workshops around New England as a multi-style soloist and a member of the newly-formed Azora Piano Trio.
